This changes your daily routine at least he did not spend all these four months in prison.Oscar got bail on the 22nd of february 2013 even though it was a huge amount of money ,I am talking about R1 million because the court saw it that he posed as a flight risk.
The trial
Then there was the starting of the trial was set for the 3-20th of march 2014 but to everyones suprise the case went on longer then we expected and can guess who the trial was assigned to ? yes you got it right judge Thokozile Masipa who appointed two assesssors Janette Henzen du Toit and Themba Mazibuko.
Lets face it guys this trial has some of the best lawyers on in I mean we talking about Barry Roux and the prosecutor Gerrie Nel,though this trial we have heard testimonies of many witnesses ,some wanted to stay anoymous and they all spoke about what they heard that night.Doctors ,Pathelogist ,and even anaesthesiologist testified.
Some of us would say Oscar showed some remorse about what happened ,some would disagree.What are your views about this trial since we were following it from day one and they have come with a date which the sentencing process will start on the 7th August.Let us chat again after the 7th but I still want to know your views about the trial.

ReplyDeleteThe problem with Oscar is that he always has something up his sleeve, we never know what he can say or do in court so this could go one for another year.

ReplyDeleteHi Pascal. I think oscar's guilty because he seems to be changing the story and he seems to have anger issues which the whole world by now knows about... do you agree if I'd say that he needs medical attention because his anger issues seem to be overcoming his thoughts and decisions?
ReplyDeleteWell I am not sure if we can say he needs medical attention because he has went through that process already,Its not like he keeps changing his story remember he hardly talks in court but his legal team does most of the talking.

ReplyDeleteI think Oscar should be given a chance to prove himself,everyone keeps telling the story from their percetive and it is not fair.We were not there the day it happened and can not really tell the truth and the only people who know the truth is Oscar and Reeva,so lets all stop judging him.

ReplyDeleteTo Portia,I understand what you mean and that is your own view but we have to take in mind also the evidence they have used in the trial is very strong.But then you right only Oscar and Reeva knows what happened that day.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that it is not on our onus to say whether Oscar is guilty or not, but I do want justice to be served in accordance with the law, of course, but must be fair and understandable by everyone:) as this has had everyone rattled.
ReplyDeleteThank you Minenhle for the comment,I agree with you it is not based on us to judge if he is guilty or not.That is why there is a top judge on this case and I am very much sure that she will make sure that justice is served and it will be an example to everyone thinking of committing such a crime.
